Swipe Right! Makeup for your Tinder profile

October 28, 2015

Tinder the dating app that is almost unavoidable if you are single, it is the same amount of awks as necessary in 2015. With myself and almost all of my single friends using the app, I thought I would share a few tips on how to do your makeup to have the most approachable ‘Swipe right, but only if you’re not a creep’ profile pic and also the best makeup for a first tinder date.

  • Keep it natural and light
  • Avoid bright or bold lipsticks (unless its your thing and you are never without it)
  • Hair down and as you would wear it on a day-to-day basis
  • A smile is better than a sexy pose
  • If you meet up for a date with a match keep your makeup similar to your profile pic, don’t do a full on smokey eye or winged liner it will freak your date out. Your makeup needs to match the date location, if you’re going for a cocktail intensify your eyes a little more, if it’s a coffee date then natural is best.

A natural eye look is best, I love the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, it is small and great to keep in your bag if you have a date straight after work. Use a fluffy brush to really blend the shadow in, the It Cosmetics brushes are so soft and blend makeup quickly and are so easy to use. For mascara, long and naturally fluttery lashes are the most flattering, this is not the time for a full strip of lashes. Rimmel’s Wake Me Up mascaras give full lashes without the clumps. Brows are important too, if you normally fill them in then do but make sure you are using a combing them through afterwards to give a more natural look.

Foundation is a personal preference but what ever you use make sure it is buffed in really well till unnoticeable, a buffing brush is better than fingers for this. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundations are a favourite for photography they give skin a perfected look without being to heavy. If you have dark circles then IT cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye is going to be your new BFF, for concealing and correcting. A small natural amount of bronzer and blush to give you a healthy-glowing look is great for a photo.

I like to keep it neutral and very approachable, pick a nude that enhances your natural lip colour not one that creates a whole new colour.

Once you have a few dates lined up because your profile photo is being swiped right so much then let the dating begin! When picking a fragrance stay away from any overpowering scents keep it light, I love this Elizabeth and James Nirvana rollerball it is perfect to keep in your handbag and don’t forget deodorant, Nivea Pearl and Beauty has been my go to for years!

Good luck, may the dating gods be forever in your favour and have fun swiping!
