Miu Miu, the baby sister of Prada has been a brand which season after season I have lusted over their beautiful collections and saved my pennies to buy an accessory or 2 over the years. When I first heard that Miu Miu would release a fragrance it was the bottle I was most excited about and I was not disappointed, this hefty blue-bottle with gold and white detail topped off with an amazing red perspex disc belongs front and centre of anyones perfume collection. It screams ‘do not put me in a cupboard, I want you to look at how beautiful I am’, which is exactly what I have done.
The composition of the fragrance is signed by perfumer Danielle Roche Andrier, known for her creations for the house of Prada (as well as Bvlgari, Marni, Bottega Veneta). The fragrance is unique, soft but still very sophisticated the top notes focus on lily of the valley flowers supported with floral notes of jasmine, rose and green notes, as well as a special ingredient created by Givaudan, akigalawood, which develops the scent of patchouli, notes of pepper and woody aromas. The fragrance starts in a fresh and floral manner when first sprayed onto the skin, and as it develops it begins warmer and woodsier which is what I love most about the fragrance. It is best worn on the skin which transforms the scent throughout the day mixing with your skins natural oils and scent.
To me this fragrance reminds me of a very cool french party girl, sophisticated beyond her years that mixes the old with the new. She wears her favourite jeans with vintage silk paisley shirts a miu miu shoe and always ALWAYS has perfected winged eye liner.
Miu Miu is available from 13th September 2015 from Miu Miu Boutiques, Myer and David Jones stores nationally.
